Antique Carnelian Cameo Brooch

This exquisite cameo is carved from the hard stone, carnelian in the classical form. Featuring the bust of a Roman lady, right facing. The cameo is surrounded by natural pearls and is accented with four small round diamonds. The cameo is mounted in 14K yellow gold. It is also fitted with a fold over pendant bail to be worn on a necklace chain. The brooch measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4". Circa 1900.
