Early Victorian Antique 18K Pietra Dura Butterfly Brooch - Circa 1840s

This lovely pietra dura brooch is Inlaid in onyx with agates and malachite creating this beautiful butterfly in hard stones. Set in an 18K yellow gold bezel frame. Notice the length of the pin stem, indicative of its age. A thoughtful gift for the collector of pietra dura, or lover of butterflies! The brooch will surely capture attention and compliments!
The brooch measures approximately 2 x 1.5, and weighs 15.9 grams.
