Lava Cameo of Bacchus

This exquisitely detailed hand carved lava cameo is a free form study of Bacchus the Roman god of wine and merrymaking. The cameo dates to the early 19th century and is secured by a pin stem with C clasp. The back is signed "M". The cameo measures 1 7/8" by 1 5/8".
