Rare Raphael Madonna Lava Cameo

This lava cameo is an exquisite replica of Raphael's Bridgewater Madonna. Raphael's painting is known for the graceful torso twists known as contrapposto which is beautifully replicated in the cameo. The detail of the carving is exquisite. The cameo may be worn as a brooch or pendant and is mounted in 18K yellow gold. The cameo measures 2" by 1 3/4". Circa 1910.
