Made by McTeigue for Tiffany & Co, this 14K natural ruby ring is channel set with five graduated emerald cut red rubies in the classic Retro Moderne design era of the 1940s. The estimated total weight of the rubies is .62 carat. The inside of the ring is stamped with the McTeigue makers mark, Tiffany & Co stamp, and hand engraved in script Jan 31, 1944. This is a beautiful piece of Forties jewelry ready to be treasured for another lifetime!
From the McTeigue website: Founded in New York in 1895, the Walter P. McTeigue & Company designed and manufactured fine handmade precious jewelry and was a highly regarded behind the scene jeweler to the trade throughout the 20th century. Among their customers were the country’s finest retailers including Tiffany & Company, J.E. Caldwell, C.D. Peacock, Black, Starr & Frost and Shreve, Crump & Low.
The ring weighs 7.9 grams and is a size 6. Complimentary sizing for a perfect fit is a service I offer.
Good condition. There is some minor facet junction abrasion, and one corner of the middle stone is chipped. This is condition that is typical for a ring that was worn often, and is nearly 75 years old.
