Vintage 18K Gold Enamel Lion Brooch Designer Signed Martine

This whimsical leaping lion in 18K yellow gold and rust colored enamel has so much personality! Signed by jewelry designer Martine, the lion is quite detailed with textured gold ruff, green eyes and white and black enamel accents. The tail is constructed in such a way as to create a bail allowing it to be worn on a chain. The brooch has a double pin stem (fur clip) allowing it to be balanced without pulling on the fabric to which it is pinned. The brooch measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/8. Weighs 38.2 grams. Very good condition. Circa 1960s.
