This fine estate Bohemian garnet bar pin brooch is encrusted with rose cut pyrope garnets in gold vermeil over 830 silver. Whether to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or add to your garnet jewelry collection, this beautiful bar pin style brooch will be treasured for a lifetime! Stamped S830 with maker's mark. Bohemian garnet jewelry came from the Czech region of Europe, and are the pyrope garnet variety. Bohemian jewelry refers not only to the type of garnets used, but all the way they are cut and arranged in cluster form. Rose cuts, faceted brilliants, and cabochons were the stone cutting most used in these beautiful pieces. Made as early as the 18th c., Bohemian garnet jewelry gained favor and popularity with the Victorians into the 20th c.
